Report Interpretation

Overview

The report believes Jentech, as a leading manufacturer of semiconductor package-level thermal components, will benefit from AI server demand, the accelerating Rubin series ramp-up, and upgrades to next-generation thermal designs. Based on stronger volume, ASP, and margin prospects, BofA raises its 2026-28E earnings forecasts and valuation multiple while maintaining its Buy rating.

Core views

The report first raises Jentech's medium-term earnings trajectory. BofA increases its 2026E, 2027E, and 2028E EPS forecasts from NT$61.62, NT$119.96, and NT$212.59 to NT$70.93, NT$158.82, and NT$294.64, respectively, representing upgrades of 15%, 32%, and 39%. The new forecasts are 13%, 23%, and 42% above consensus, respectively. Sales forecasts for the same period are NT$33,322mn, NT$66,115mn, and NT$115,547mn, while net profit forecasts are NT$10,409mn, NT$23,305mn, and NT$43,235mn. The report summarizes 2026-28E sales and EPS growth as CAGRs of 86% and 104%, respectively, and expects the market to raise sales and earnings forecasts after August sales are announced. Near-term growth evidence comes from 2Q26 results and the accelerating ramp-up of Rubin GPU heat spreaders. 2Q26 sales were NT$7,275mn, up 37% QoQ and 40% YoY, in line with BofA's forecast and 5% above consensus. Gross and operating margins reached 46.8% and 37.8%, respectively, 2.5 and 1.8 percentage points above BofA's forecasts and both 2.5 percentage points above consensus. Operating profit was NT$2,749mn, up 62% both QoQ and YoY, exceeding BofA's forecast and consensus by 5% and 13%, respectively; net profit was NT$2,318mn, up 66% QoQ and 107% YoY, 11% and 18% above the respective estimates. The report primarily attributes the margin beat to continued Blackwell Ultra shipments and product-mix improvement and higher ASP from the initial Rubin ramp-up. NT$92mn of non-operating income included NT$37mn of net interest income and an NT$17mn foreign-exchange loss. Entering 3Q26, BofA expects sales to grow 37% QoQ and 97% YoY. Supply-chain checks indicate that Rubin GPU heat spreader ASP may normalize from August, but volume is expected to more than double QoQ, so volume growth should be sufficient to offset the ASP decline. July sales rose 21% QoQ and 91% YoY, which the report views as the first evidence of a faster and larger ramp-up. BofA expects August sales to continue growing sequentially from July's high base, with strong monthly sales extending into 4Q26. Even against the high 2Q-3Q26 base, 4Q26 sales are still expected to grow 8% QoQ and 104% YoY. New-product ramp-ups and greater scale should also continue to drive gross and operating margins higher. The principal incremental growth driver in 2027 is Rubin Ultra. The report brings forward the initial ramp-up of its heat spreaders from the previously expected 3Q27 to 2Q27. As the design shifts to a removable lid, its ASP is expected to reach 3-4x that of the first-generation Rubin. BofA therefore expects 2027 sales to grow 98% YoY while margins continue expanding. From 2026E to 2028E, gross margin is expected to rise from 46.7% to 49.7% and 51.1%, operating margin from 38.7% to 44.5% and 47.3%, and net margin from 31.2% to 35.2% and 37.4%. The report also expects ROE of 34%-53% in 2026-28 and views higher net margins as the primary support. On competition, BofA believes Jentech holds a leading position in semiconductor package-level thermal components, including heat spreaders, lids, and stiffeners, and may become one of the first or a key supplier of advanced microchannel-lid liquid-cooling designs. The report is not concerned about peer competition because package-level thermal designs are more complex, require more advanced technology, and have stringent quality thresholds. Supply-chain checks also indicate that the company will participate selectively in thermal projects such as cold plates rather than expand indiscriminately. On valuation, BofA raises its price objective from NT$4,000 to NT$6,800, retaining 2H27-1H28E EPS as the earnings base but increasing the target P/E multiple from 25x to 30x. The report believes that greater certainty around sales and EPS growth, higher margins, and AI server demand are sufficient to support the valuation uplift. The 30x multiple is close to Delta Electronics' 31x, King Slide's 32x, and the 30x average next-twelve-month multiple of major SOX constituents. The report also compares Jentech's 104% EPS CAGR with the average 106% next-twelve-month EPS growth of SOX stocks. Jentech was then trading at 36x 2027E earnings, above the 26x average for leading Taiwan hardware companies, 25x for Greater China thermal peers, and 24x for all peers, but its PEG of 0.34 was below the peer average of 0.73. The 30x target valuation is approximately 1.5 standard deviations above the company's post-listing average P/E of 19x.

Analysis framework

The report first reviews 2Q26 results and the extent of the margin beat, then combines July sales with supply-chain checks to separate changes in Rubin product volume and ASP and project sales trends from 3Q26 through 4Q26. It subsequently incorporates the earlier Rubin Ultra ramp-up and higher ASP into 2027-28 sales, margin, and EPS forecasts. Finally, it compares P/E and PEG against historical valuations, leading Taiwan hardware companies, Greater China and global thermal peers, and SOX constituents to determine the target multiple.

Methodology notes

Impact & implications

The report believes that the Rubin ramp-up, earlier Rubin Ultra introduction, and 3-4x ASP could transform Jentech from merely a beneficiary of AI demand into a supplier experiencing simultaneous acceleration in revenue, margins, and EPS. Earnings forecasts above consensus imply that market estimates could be raised further if August sales remain strong. Greater growth certainty and Jentech's leading position in package-level thermal components are the principal reasons BofA raises its target P/E multiple.

Risks

  • Stronger-than-expected AI server demand presents upside risk to the price objective.
  • Faster supply-chain migration to new thermal designs presents upside risk to the price objective.
  • Faster-than-expected capacity expansion presents upside risk to the price objective.
  • Favorable USD/NTD exchange-rate movements present upside risk to the price objective.
  • Weaker AI server demand presents downside risk to the price objective.
  • Higher raw-material costs could reduce gross margin.
  • Delayed supply-chain migration to new thermal designs could weaken growth.
  • Slower-than-expected capacity expansion could constrain sales realization.
  • Adverse USD/NTD exchange-rate movements could weigh on gross margin or non-operating items.

What to watch

  • After August sales are announced, monitor whether monthly sales continue to grow sequentially from July's high base and whether the market raises its sales and earnings forecasts.
  • Monitor whether Rubin heat spreader volume can more than double QoQ and continue to offset the impact of ASP normalization.
  • Monitor whether strong monthly sales can extend into 4Q26 and whether 4Q26 sales can achieve 8% QoQ growth.
  • Monitor whether Rubin Ultra heat spreaders can begin ramping in 2Q27 according to the accelerated schedule.
